Is it possible to miscontrue depression lifting with the manic phase of bipolar disease?

i heard that some bipolar disease have cycles that can last long times like 3-10 years. . . if that’s true, isn’t it possible that what you believe that is depression curing is just the manic phase of BPD?
it would genuinely suck if you think that finally hapiness have come but what you have is just another merry-go-round of BPD. . .
