One of my friends disappeared last year. It turns out that he’d had a mental breakdown and locked himself up in his room, and that’s why we’d not heard from him in 2 months and he wasn’t answering our calls.
I finally got around to sending him a card. I didn’t know what to say. His girlfriend warned me that any kind of pressure to come out and socialise sent him back into depression. I just wrote my name on the back.

Does anyone ever feel that their mental problems are not as bad as they think they are? The reason I am asking is that I suffer from depression and mild anxiety.
